English: The celestial sphere rotating above the ESO's Very Large Telescope at Paranal Observatory. This long exposure shows that the seemingly fixed stars appear to circle the south (left) and north (right) celestial poles. The stars along the celestial equator appear to follow a straight oblique path in the middle of the image. The motion blur of the VLT's enclosures are also visible.
